Those of you who know me well know just
how BIG of an accomplishment this was

say Steven Richard was very proud of his
Mom he knew something was going on! He kept
saying Ma Ma Ma Ma durning the ceremony!!!!
It was very nice and I was especially
glad to be able to thank Steven, my
parents, and Steven Richard after they
called my name!!!! I am so glad they
were there with me.
Below if a letter of
recommendation from the PTK.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Stephanie Hurst, a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society of the Two-Year College, the largest educational honor society in the world. Stephanie was inducted into the Mu Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at San Jacinto College. To be invited to membership in Phi Theta Kappa, Stephanie earned high academic standing with a class rank in the top 10%. Phi Theta Kappa requires members to maintain high academic standing for the duration of enrollment at the two-year college.
Established in 1918 by two-year college presidents, Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society serves to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming. Membership in the Society reflects discipline, determination, and an innate desire to succeed. Active involvement demonstrates servant leadership, communication skills, and emerging leadership talent.
Since 1929, Phi Theta Kappa has been recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges as the official honor society for all two-year colleges. Phi Theta Kappa also holds membership in the prestigious Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) as the only general scholarship honor society representing two-year colleges.
Serving 1,100 two-year colleges around the world, Phi Theta Kappa's operations are global in scope with chapters located in all 50 United States, U.S. Territories, Canada, Germany and Japan. More than 1.5 million members have earned membership since its founding, with more than 80,000 students inducted each year.

Cordially,

Rod A. Risley Executive Director Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society
